The World Journalists Federation (WJF) expresses its deepest sympathy and solidarity with the people of Nepal, particularly the journalists and media professionals who are facing difficult circumstances following the recent devastating floods.

On behalf of the World Journalists Federation, the President and Secretary General extend their heartfelt condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones, homes and livelihoods as a result of the floods. We pray for the safety, strength and well-being of the affected communities and for the swift recovery of the country.

The World Journalists Federation recognizes the vital role of journalists during natural disasters. Even in extremely challenging circumstances, journalists continue to report from affected areas, inform the public, highlight humanitarian needs and help bring the voices of vulnerable communities to the attention of the world.

We stand firmly with the journalists of Nepal and with the entire Nepali nation during this difficult hour. We salute the courage and dedication of Nepali journalists who continue to perform their professional responsibilities despite the risks and hardships they face.

The World Journalists Federation calls for the safety and protection of all journalists working in flood-affected areas and hopes that every possible humanitarian effort will be made to assist affected families and communities.

We remain united with our colleagues in the Nepali media community and convey our sincere prayers and best wishes for Nepal’s recovery, peace and prosperity.
